Aluvan "Intruder" 6200 Plate Boat
This video is the finished product of the Aluvan "Intruder". We decided to take the family out for a quick spin. This showed us just how versatile the Intruder is, as we could comfortably carry up to 8 people in the boat, with plenty of storage for all life jackets, a 90 litre esky and a 120 litre esky. It has the ability to carry 160 litres of fuel onboard we had about 90 litres onboard. We also had a small twin gas burner set up on the side deck for cooking lunch whilst the kids fished from the casting platform and other side deck. The boat never stopped performing even at rest with the stability enabling anyone to be anywhere on the boat at any time. The intruder also boasts an abundance of positive flotation, increasing the safety of all on board. The intruder easily doubles as a family fun vessel, but can easily become an offshore fishing treat for keen anglers wishing to troll for pelagic species or bottom bash the reefs.

Aluvan Marine "Intruder" Further Testing
This video is showing the further testing of the INTRUDER in open water conditions. After thoroughly testing the hull performance in all driving conditions, including smooth and open water, purposely ploughing the nose and over trimming the motor we decided to lift the motor a bolthole and fit a 19" Vengeance Stainless propeller to the Mercury 2 Stroke 115 and just see how versatile the 6.2metre hull really was. The setup on paper is not the most optimal, however look at how well it still comes out of the hole, the ability to perform hard turns with little loss of speed and how smooth and dry the ride is for the passengers.

Peter Bethune Earthrace - New Record Round the World in 60 days
Possibly the coolest powerboat on the planet, the space age, wave piercing trimaran Earthrace today took bio-fuel into history as the 78 foot, (24 metre) boat crossed the 'Round the World' finish line in Sagunto, Spain. In just 60 days Earthrace has powered almost 24000 nautical miles around the world. Earthrace left Spain on Sunday April 27th at 14:35 local time (1325 GMT) and headed west on the long voyage around the world. The previous record for a powerboat to circumnavigate the globe was 74 days 20 hours 58 minutes 30 seconds, set by the UK boat Cable & Wireless Adventurer in 1998. Flying both the New Zealand and Spanish flags Earthrace thundered across the finish line, powered by her twin 540 horse powered Cummins-Mercruiser engines, in front of a large spectator fleet and awaiting media at 14.24 CET (13.24 GMT). The finish in Spain by Earthrace was monitored by D. Jaime Pérez López, Presidente de la Federación Territorial Motonaútica de la Comunidad Valenciana.The new record is 13 days, 21 hours and 9 minutes inside the old one. For the visionary skipper behind the Earthrace campaigns the last sixty days is just one step in a journey that has, so far, taken five years. Millennium Fabrication 760 AirRider
Following on our ever expanding line of excellent AIR RIDER hulls, this new 7.6m couples the popular forward wheelhouse with the Yanmar 6BY260Z diesel sterndrive, to give an excellent all rounder with 30+ knots performance and the space for overnight camping with an on board toilet for the sheila's. We launched the 2nd of these on October 5th and what a superb performance!! This stunner is built by Pete Sandy's Millennium Fabrication of Perth, for Colin Sandy, and is Millennium Fabrications demonstrator vessel. It is available for demonstration (appointment only) by calling Peter Sandy on 0400501061. There is not a thing spared on this vessel (see the items list below) and it is a true reflection of the builders superb craftmanship. Trialed with FULL LOAD including 6 personnel, full fuel and water, with an all up weight just on 4 tonnes, we achieved a genuine 30.5 knots and 4130 RPM, giving a nice 130 RPM margin over the Yanmar required 4000 rating. The Yanmar 260 running a 2:1 Bravo 3 leg, did it all with ease, much to the delight of the owners and the commissioning Yanmar engineer. In fact at 3600 RPM we cruise at a genuine 26 knots.

This power boat seperates itself from smaller sail boats and row boats in that it does not have a cabin, a keel, a sail, an escort, and is required to carry its own fuel. These brothers were completely exposed to the weather and they had to keep the boat upright in storms.

Aluvan "Intruder" Test
The "Intruder" is a custom hull design boat, designed and prototyped by Aluvan Marine Design & Engineering. This is the test day of the "Intruder" on both calm and open waters. The boat is fitted out with a Mercury Optimax 115 2 stroke 3cyl, fitted with Smart Craft guages and a Vengance 16" stainless steel propeller. Steering is taken care of Teleflex hydraulic steering. The design of the hull is truly unique for an aluminium boat. Providing maximum lift from very low speed, which developes a "wind tunnel" like effect either side of the keel. The lower chine's help keep the boat stable at both speed and through cornering, but do no way affect the response of the speed of the boat in relation to drag. The hull will plane at a mere 5mph, and will cruise comfortably at 35MPH at 5000RPM with another 1000RPM on tap for over taking or quick bursts of speed up to 44mph. Aluvan boast 35 years experience in marine design, and is responsible for some designs used by some of the leading boating names in Australia. This evidently shows in the "intruder" as weeks of careful sketches and 3D CAD drawing produced the first 3D model of the "intruder", this was then drawn to 2D patterns, cut and assembled. No scaled versions were produced or tested. The footage you see is the first test this hull has undergone. RGM-84 Harpoon Anti-Ship Missiles
The Harpoon is an all-weather, over-the-horizon, anti-ship missile system, developed and manufactured by the McDonnell Douglas Corporation of the United States of America, with manufacturing now taken over by Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, the new owner of its factory in Missouri. In 2004, Boeing delivered the 7000th Harpoon unit since the weapon's introduction in 1977. The missile system has also been further developed into a land-strike weapon, the Standoff Land Attack Missile (SLAM). The regular Harpoon uses active radar homing, and a low-level, sea-skimming cruise trajectory to improve survivability and lethality. The missile's launch platforms include: * Fixed-wing aircraft (the AGM-84, made without the solid-fueled booster) * Surface ships (the RGM-84, fitted with a solid-fueled rocket booster that detaches when expended, to allow the missile's main turbojet to maintain flight) * Submarines (the UGM-84, fitted with a solid-rocket launch booster and encapsulated in a container to enable submerged launch through a torpedo tube); Coastal defense batteries, from which it would be fired with a solid-fueled booster. In 1986, the United States Navy sank at least two Libyan patrol boats in the Gulf of Sidra. Two Harpoon missiles were launched from the USS Yorktown with no confirmed results and several others from A-6 Intruder aircraft that were said to have hit their targets. Boarding Carnival Elation Cruise to Los Cabos, Mexico from Port of San Diego
In this tour we are Arriving at the San Diego Airport (Southern California) then we took the rental car to the Carnival Elation cruise ship docked at the port of San Diego. We were part of about 2400 passengers going on a 5 day cruise to Cabo San Lucas, and Ensenada. This is my first cruise trip, although many people boarding the vessel are returning passengers. In this tour, we show you the process of boarding the cruise ship, going thru the Carnival Checking- then going thru US Immigration as you depart and get ready to board your vessel. They check your passport, also when you return to the USA. There are dock personnel that will help you unload your baggage (tipping here) with the large number of people getting ready to load, there is crowding and some stress in dealing with the rush to unload the cab and get on board. The security staff direct the traffic and they even told me that I could not video tape the ship or traffic that it was ilegal to do so, this really ruined my day with this attitude from the dock staff. they should make you welcome not as an intruder. This really was a depressing memorable and unforgettable experience for my first cruise trip. There was a naval ship aircraft carrier anchored next to the Elation, completely loaded with jets and helicopters.
